Intensive Workshop on African Indigenous Knowledge & Intellectual Property Rights: Implications for Nigeria’s Development

Organized by the University of Ibadan, IK Study Group & Center for Indigenous Knowledge & Development (CIKAD), the workshop will be hands-on and action oriented, intended to provide a balanced view of current issues and constraints in international IP and IK rights and management. It will offer a mix of intensive interactions and in-depth discussions, case-studies, and group exercises. The workshop is aimed at relatively senior lawyers and cultural resource managers, government agencies and institutions, academics, community activists, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders in Nigeria engaged in IK and IPR issues.
