The Climate and Land Use Alliance seeks an individual to help implement the grant-making strategy of its Global Initiative Team. The Consultant must be able to demonstrate a record of success in achieving specific policy and programmatic outcomes working with a range of stakeholders, including private sector, governments, and non-governmental organizations; be a strategic thinker, have at least five years’ experience working in the area of forests and land use change, preferably in the tropics; and demonstrate knowledge of international forest, land use and climate change policy. S/he will have managed complex processes involving multiple institutions and individuals in a team arrangement; and understand how to bring evidence to bear in decision-making. Experience with grant-making is desirable but not necessary. The consultant will have primary responsibility for annual grants to 6-8 organizations, and will empower and enable grant recipients to achieve real impact, including on specific policy and programmatic objectives.
