Request for Nominations for Indigenous Permanent Forum Members

NEW YORK, USA: The current membership of the Permanent Forum is due to expire at the end of 2013. Nominations are requested for Permanent Forum members from the seven socio-cultural regions (Africa; Asia; Central and South America and the Caribbean; the Arctic; Eastern Europe, Russian Federation, Central Asia and Transcaucasia; North America; and the Pacific) for a three-year period from January 2014 until December 2016. Only nominations from indigenous peoples’ organizations are accepted; individuals cannot nominate themselves. It is highly advisable that nominations are only submitted once a thorough consultation process has taken place throughout the region. All correspondence should be sent to the Secretariat of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Room DC2-1454, New York, NY 10017, USA or by email to: indigenous_un(at)un.org.
