This is a P-4 temporary mission replacement, up till 30 April 2013. The incumbent’s main responsibilities and tasks will include, among others, to: manage and coordinate the UN-Indigenous Peoples Partnership (UNIPP) Multi-Partner Trust Fund on behalf of OHCHR; provide substantive input and advice to the UNIPP Policy Board and the Secretariat on the rights of indigenous peoples; contribute to international expert group meetings and the annual sessions of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; participate in inter-agency and collaborative work with UN departments and agencies, including through developing joint programs and engaging in delivering project activities; ensure up to date information regarding substantive matters on the rights of indigenous peoples and make policy proposals and recommendations for action by OHCHR senior management; prepare, coordinate and review OHCHR inputs on proposals concerning human rights standards and mechanisms related to indigenous peoples; and review, monitor and evaluate activities relating to the implementation of international human rights instruments, including recommendations of treaty bodies and mechanisms of the Human Rights Council.
