18th session of the Human Rights Council

The right to express grievances and aspirations for political change through peaceful protests is a central theme of this session of the Human Rights Council. Indigenous issues will be addressed on Tuesday, 20 September 2011. The day’s schedule includes interactive dialogues with the Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Expert Mechanism on the Rights on Indigenous Peoples, as well as a panel on the role of languages and culture in the promotion and protection of the well-being and identity of indigenous peoples.
