Resource Kit on Indigenous Peoples’ Issues

The Secretariat of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (SPFII), in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), UN Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD) has published the Resource Kit on Indigenous Peoples’ Issues. The Kit is aimed UN Country Teams and other development agents, providing them with guidance as to how to engage indigenous peoples and include their perspectives in development processes. It includes a thorough overview of international agreements and legal frameworks that deal directly or indirectly with indigenous issues as well as international mechanisms that specifically target indigenous peoples.
