This information service is designed to inform Indigenous peoples and other members of the international community about Traditional Knowledge (TK) related discussions taking place in international fora.
Debates concerning TK in international fora have sometimes been hampered by lack of easily accessible, easily digestible, accurate and unbiased information. Moreover, the proliferating number of international processes dealing with TK make nearly impossible for individuals and communities to stay abreast of current developments at the international level. It has also not been possible to access information on all the TK related issues being discussed in international fora in one place. This new information resource will be drawing out linkages and similarities between TK issues being discussed in different fora, and serve as a tool for participants in meetings to become better acquainted with issues. It will also serve as a way to disseminate information through national networks and so facilitate enhanced understanding of the relevance of international processes to domestic debates.
